Kingfisher Tiger fishing lodge on the Zambezi River

The Lodge

The Lodge:

Kingfisher is a self-catering lodge with six river facing chalets and located on the banks of the lower Zambezi River between the Mpata gorge and the Zambezi gates, the narrowest part of the Zambezi. Not accessible by road, boat transfers to the lodge are arranged when accommodation is booked; either a short trip from Kavalamanja Village harbour parking or a longer trip by boat from the Luangwa Boma formally known as Feira. The boat trip from Kavalamanja is between 15 and 20 minutes. How long is boat trip from Boma 45 mins approx.

The lodge is decorated and furnished by local staff and craftsmen to create a rustic local African character to match the location, and sensitive to our environment, we produce most of our electricity at the lodge from solar energy.

Staying at Kingfisher

No two chalets at Kingfisher are the same. Each with it’s own unique character, all chalets face the river and all can accommodate four persons comfortably for groups or families. All are equipped with en-suite shower and toilet facilities and all bedding and towels are provided.

The Kitchen is fully equipped with two keen cooks to do all your catering, giving you the opportunity to relax and enjoy your stay.

The lodge is fully staffed with boatmen, meals waiter, and cleaning staff.

There are two dining  areas, one open-air area by the braai for those warm dry days and a covered dining/sitting area.
