Kingfisher Tiger fishing lodge on the Zambezi River

Kingfisher Lodge Lower Zambezi

Kingfisher fishing lodge is nestled along the bank of the Zambezi River between the Mpata gorge and the Zambezi gates, the narrowest part of the Zambezi River. Kingfisher is a rustic self-catering lodge made up of six river facing chalets. Fishing is the main reason people visit but the breath taking views and relaxing atmosphere are also an attraction. With a large variety of birds and wildlife around there is always something to see. The lodge is only accessible by boat making it a beautiful secluded getaway from the stress of everyday work.

The Lodge Accommodation

Kingfisher is a self-catering lodge made up of six river facing chalets. The lodge is not accessible by road, a short transfer by boat from Kavalamanja Village harbour parking or a longer trip by boat from the Luangwa Boma formally known as Feira are arranged when making a booking. The boat trip from Kavalamanja is a short trip between 15 and 20 minutes.

The lodge has a rustic African look and feel, giving you a truly African experience as most furniture and decor was either made by the staff or by other local Zambian craftsmen from around the country. Kingfisher is striving to be a greener lodge by having most of our power supply from solar panels, we also promote catch and release of fish caught. We would like to preserve what we have for the future to enjoy.
